Three men arrested in the ongoing fake gas scam have been charged at milimani law courts.
The three Hassan Mohammed, Abdikalik Rashid and Amaan Gas were accused that on March 24, 2021 at the premises of Amaan Gas Limited L.p.g storage and filling facility located along Sabaki area, in Athi River within Machakos County, jointly with others not before the court, they were found dealing with empty LPG cylinders from different companies without prior written consent from the licensed owners in contravention of the said Act.
They were charged in another count with trading and dealing with LPG cylinders of another license for gain without the said licenses prior written consent against the law.
The court was informed that on March 24, 2021 at Sabaki area, in Arthi River within Machakos County, jointly with others not before court while using motor vehicle registration number KCU 512A make Hino, they were found dealing with filled LPG cylinders without prior written consent from the licensed owners in contravention of the said Act.
They were also charged with transporting liquefied petroleum gas without a valid license from the energy and petroleum regulatory Authority against the law.
Agostine Maingi was charged that on March 24, 2021 at the premises of Amaan Gas Limited L.P.G storage and filing facility located along Sabaki area, in Athi River within Machakos County, jointly with others not before court, they were found transport LPG cylinders using a motor vehicle registration number KCU 054u Isuzu NKR which has been licensed to transport liquefied petroleum Gases.
The prosecution said there is public outcry on the issue of fake gases.
