Politician Joseph Waswa Set Free in SH 400M Gold Fraud

‎A Milimani court has discharged city businessman Joseph Lendrix Waswa in the sh 400m fake gold scam case.

‎In a ruling delivered on 3rd of September 2025 before Milimani magistrate Geoffrey Onsarigo ,the court said that ,by law the office of the director of public prosecutions can terminate any matter at any given point.

‎According to the ruling, the DPP had informed the court that the state was the main complainant in the matter and therefore they have no intention to prosecute this matter further.

‎” having considered the application by the prosecution and the materials before me, I therefore discharge the first accused persons under section 87A.”Ruled the magistrate.

‎In the matter Waswa was charged alongside Nelson Eru, Roland Johnson, Joseph Gikonyo, Alice Kavata, Ian Wekesa, and Duncan Muchai, as well as police constable Festo Akula Wamwayi.

‎The matter will now be mentioned on the 22nd of September for the new amended charge sheet to be read for the remaining accused persons.
