Two in Sh 12M USD fraud charged in court.

Two businessmen have been charged today at Milimani Law courts with obtaining by false pretences contrary to section 313 of the penal code.

Mohamed mohamud Abdi and BashirAli Gabow appealed before Milimani law Court presiding Magistrate Benmark Ekhubi on Thursday 26th 2024 and denied the charge levelled against them.

According to the charge sheet on 10th of May 2018 at Eastleigh in Nairobi county jointly with others, not before the court with intent to defraud obtained 100, 000 USD or approximately ksh 12,800,000 from Fatuma Hassan Osman ( khadija) by falsely pretending that you would facilitate the importation of clothes from China a fact you knew to be false.

The two accused persons were ordered to deposit a cash bail of ksh 1 million or a bond of ksh 2 million.

The court further directed the matter to be mentioned on the 3rd of October for pre trial conference.

The prosecution was directed to supply the accused persons with all documentary evidence it will be relied upon during the trial.
