Court extends warrant of arrest against suspects charged with kidnapping police officer.

Court has extended warrant of arrest against one of the suspects charged with kidnapping police officer.

Martin Wasike is among three people charged with Kidnapping in order to murder contrary to the law.

Wasike, Shariff Wanabwa and Phoebe Anindo are accused that on January 19,2020 at unkown place, Jointly with others not before court kidnapped police constable Abel Misati.

They are said to have kidnapped him the officer in order that he may be murdered or disposed of as to be put in danger of being murdered.

Magistrate Caroline Muthoni who extended the warrant, also cancelled a bond against three other police officers who were charged with aiding escape of wasike.

The three officers from Kamukunji Police station are Corporal Vacity Chebet, PC Stephen Akuom and PC Elias Koome.

They were charged that on May 13,2020 at Kamukunji Police Station in Nairobi, jointly with others not before court aided remandee Wasike a Ugandan National who had been charged with kidnapping with intent to murder.

The officers are said to have helped Wasike to escape from Kamukunji Police Station in Nairobi.

The OCS Kamukunji has been summoned to appear in court on Thursday to explain circumstances under which the suspect identified as Martin Wasike escaped from lawful custody.

The summon was issued following a request by lawyer Alfred Nyandieka, representing the family of the police officer.

The court was told that the missing suspect who was being held at Kamukunji Police Station alongside his co-accused is not a Kenyan.

The matter will be mentioned on Thursday next week at Milimani Law Courts.
