Man beats daughter to death

Frankline Ntwiga has appeared before Kibera law courts and charged with manslaughter contrary to the law.

He was charged that on May 21,2021 at Jamhuri ASK Showground quaters within Nairobi County ,unlawfully caused the death of Christine Makena.

Police report indicates that on May 20,2021 around 9 pm the girl was taken to the hospital by her father as she was unwell.

On the next day May 20,2021 she was again rushed to the same hospital at around 5.45 am, after she collapsed at home following serious beatings from her father .

He is said to have beaten the 15 year old in the presence of their mother and her brother.

She died upon arrival at the hospital. After investigations, the police were informed that her father had beaten her with the aim of disciplining her after she disappeared from home on several occasions and failed to report to school.

It was said that the girl had been sneaking and spending the nights away from home for no apparent reason.

At some point they even went to report to the Jamhuri police station over her missing and later she resurfaced. The parents also sought help from the children and gender desk at Jamhuri Police Station where she was put in custody as a child in need of care and protection but after she had been released to parents, she stayed for one day at home and then disappeared mysteriously.

It is said that on the day before her death her parents accompanied her home and while at home started beating the deceased with a water pipe. In the morning .

The condition worsened and was later rushed to the Hospital where she passed on arrival.
