Politician wanjigi arrested after court issued warrant of arrest.

Presidential aspirant Jimmi Wanjigi has beend arrested afer a Nairobi court issued a warrant of arrest.

Magistrate Bernard Ochoi had issued a warrant of arrest against presidential aspirant Jimmi Wanjigi and sermons to his wife and five others accused of conspiring to commit forge a title deed.
Milimani Principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi issued the warrant against Wanjigi and summoned his wife Irene Nzisa, Himanshu Dodhia alias Velji Premchard, Kaneez Noorani, Mohammed Hussein among others to appear in court and answer the charges.
The prosecution through investigating Officer Patrick Maloba sought to have warrants against the accused persons as they are all required to appear in court.
Maloba insisted that his intentions is to apprehend the accused persons and bring them to court.
He said police has tried to communicate with them but their phones are switched off. He also said he wants other government agencies to assist in arresting them.
However, the Magistrate considered the application filed by the police and said that all other accused persons may not be aware that they are required in court.
He noted that the accused persons were not bonded and so they need to be sermoned.
He issued the warrant against Wanjigi and summoned the other seven accused persons to appear in court on Monday.
In the charge sheet filed in court, Wanjigi and seven others, are accused that between April 9, 2010 and June 5, 2018 at unknown place within the country, jointly with others not before court, conspired to forge a title deed for land dated July 20,1993 under the name of Horizon hills limited.
They face another count of forging the title deed for a land measuring 0.3314ha under the name of Dodhia foam limited purporting it to be a genuine and valid deed issued and signed by a surveyor G.S. Gitau.
The eight are also being accused of forging a grant contrary to law on the same dates and place.
The case will be mentioned on January 24 when they will plead to the charges.
