A man in Sh 1.6M fake Avocado deal charged in court.

A man has been charged at Miliminani law courts with Sh 1.6Million fake Avocado deal.

Nelson Ngila Ngui appeared before Milimani Magistrate Muthoni Nzibe and denied one count of obtaining money by false pretenses.

Ngila was charged that on Diverse dates between August 3, 2021 and     October 15, 2021, in Embakasi Sub-county within Nairobi County, with intent to defraud obtained from Santi Gomez Guerrero 13,000 Euros equivalent to Sh 1,600,000 by falsely pretending that he was in a position to supply avocados from the republic of Kenya to the Republic of Spain a fact he knew to be untrue.

Through his lawyer MS Tanui, the accused pleaded with the court to be released on favorable bond terms saying that he is a family man.

“My client is a first offender as he has no other criminal records and therefore we pray the court to be lenient on him,” added Tanui.

The prosecution did not oppose his release on bond.

He was released on Sh 800,000 or a cash bail of Sh 500,000.

The matter will be mentioned on November 16, 2022.
