An Abyssinia Iron and Steel Limited company worker has been charged with stealing Sh 86M from the company.Ankit Kumar Patel appeared before magistrate Lucas Onyina and denied the charges.The court was informed that on diverse dates between May 1, 2022 and September 2,2023 at Athi River within Machakos County, jointly with others not before the court conspired to commit a felony namely stealing from Abyssinia Iron and Steel Limited a total of Sh 86,159,377.He was also charged in another count with stealing the money from the company on similar dates and places being an employee of the company.The accused was released on Sh 5 Million Bond or a cash bail of Sh 1M.The matter will be mentioned on October 18, 2023.
