A man has been charged at Milimani Law Courts with Sh 39M Theft.
Wycliff Mwangi Githinji has been charged that on diverse dates between January 1,2022 and December 7,2023 within the republic of Kenya ,jointly with others not before court, being a servant to Chemi and Cotext (k)limited which came to his possession by virtue of employment.
He denied the charges and pleaded with the court to be released on favorable bond terms saying that he is newly wedded.
He also claimed that his rights were violated since he was arrested on Valentine’s Day.
He was released on a bond of Sh 5M or a cash bail of Sh 3M.
At the smae court,a woman accused of retaining money wrongfully sent to her on Mpesa has been was aso charged.
Evalyne Njeri Waruta was charged with intentionally withholding payment delivered erroneously contrary to section 35 of the computer misuse act no.5 of 2018.
She was charged that on October 6,2023 within the republic of Kenya,being an account holder paybill —- held at family bank of Kenya,registered under names of Evalyne Njeri Waruta ,intentionally withheld payment of Sh 75,000 delivered erroneously by the subscriber in the names of Douglas Mutai Bundi.
Similarly another man was charged with Intentionally Withholding payment delivered erroneously against section 35 of computer misuse and cyber crimes act no.5 of 2018.
Eric Mutembei Mureithi was charged that on December 29,2023 at unknown place within the country,intentionally and knowingly withheld a transaction of Sh 219,300 sent to his mobile number by Timothy Mutisya Kieti from his M banking NCBA loop account no 100487 using his mobile number in error and which ought to be delivered to another persons.
They were released on cash bail.
