Police Ordered to poduce MCA Yusuf Hassan to court tomorrow by a Judge.

High Court Judge Alexander Muteti has orders police to produce MCA Yusuf Hussein Ahmed by 10:00am tomorrow or to give an explanation why the said MCA cannot be produced if he is in any police custody.

The said MCA from Dela Ward in Wajir County is alleged to have been abducted by unknown people at the night of September 13, 2024.

In a habeas corpus application filed by his cousin Abdikadir Abdillahi, he says the MCA went missing from South B estate since the night of September 13, 2024 when he was forcefully removed from a taxi that he had ordered from the estate at 8:00PM on the said date.

Abdikadir states that four days after the ordeal, nobody has accounted for the whereabouts of Yussuf despite there being two OBs for the incident.

According to the petitioner, the whereabouts of Yussuf Hussein Ahmed remains unknown and unaccounted for and there is reasonable fear that he was abducted by officers attached to the Inspector General of Police and DCI whom have refused to either allow his family to visit him in custody and/or refused to present him before a court of law to answer to any charge in law.

He says that unless the Court intervenes and compels the police to produce him before Court or any other court with the requisite jurisdiction, Abdikadir and his family will continue to live with anxiety and stress caused by the forced disappearance and abduction of their loved one without the benefit of being subjected to any legal proceedings.
