Family seeks court intervention over missing Hussein
The aggrieved family held a press briefing at Milimani Law Courts, saying that Hussein is a public servant of good standing.
They said he serves as an Assistant County Commissioner in Wajir County and was also serving as the manager of Wajir Huduma Centre at the time of his sudden disappearance.
Hussein disappeared on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at around 10am.
Lawyer Danstan Omari seeks urgent court orders
Through their lawyer Danstan Omari, the family says that unless the court certifies the matter as urgent and orders the production of the applicant before court, his rights will continue to be violated.
They argue that his freedom of movement and right to associate freely with others have been illegally, unjustifiably, and arbitrarily violated.
“No party will suffer any prejudice if this application is allowed,” added Omari.
Police report filed over Hussein’s disappearance
Omari said the family reported the matter to police on July 10, 2025, in an attempt to establish Hussein’s whereabouts.
However, the efforts have not yielded results, as his location remains unknown.
The lawyer said Hussein was last seen accompanying the Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Public Service during his visit to Wajir County shortly before he went missing.
Family raises concerns over disappearance
Omari added that Hussein’s sudden disappearance on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, without any trace or notification to his close confidants or family members raises questions.
He said only the Attorney General and Inspector General of Police can provide answers regarding the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.
Court asked to order Hussein’s production
The family wants the court to direct the Inspector General of Police to immediately and unconditionally present Hussein before court on or before July 14, 2025.
They want him subjected to the rule of law.
Omari also wants the court to certify the matter as extremely urgent.
The matter is before the High Court of Kenya at Nairobi Milimani Criminal Division.
