Lawyer Danstan Omari has applauded a ruling that has released on bail Six police officers accused of killing two brothers in Kianjokoma, Embu county.
“The judge has listened to us and agreed to us, this is a landmark ruling and the cash bail that the officers have been granted is a representative of their salaries,” he added.
The six Benson Mputhia, Consolata Kariuki, Nicholas Cheruyoit, Martin Wanyama, Lilian Chemuna and James Mwaniki have been released by judge Daniel Ogembo on Sh3 million bond or an alternative cash bail of Sh300,000.
The judge while issuing the ruling gave them conditions that they should not travel to Kianjokoma, where the offence took place or Embu county.
They have each been ordered to pay a Sh3 million bond or an alternative cash bail of Sh300,000.
Their family members gathered in court to hear the ruling.
