The office of the Director of Public Prosecutions has obtained a 14 days detention order to detain a murder suspect accused of killing a 25-year-old man at DD Plaza in Eastleigh on November 9,2024.

According to the orders, the suspect, Paul Odhiambo Owuodha alias Fazul Mohamed will be detained at the Shaurimoyo police station pending investigations into the murder of Abdirahim Abdulahi Ibrahim.

The deceased, Abdirahim was shot dead and his mobile phone stolen.

Preliminary investigations led to recovery of a spent cartridge at the scene of the shooting.

Investigations led to the arrest of the suspect on November 23, within Kiambiu slums.

“The applicant (DCI) is seeking for custodial orders for the respondent (Odhiambo) to be remanded for 14 days at Shaurimoyo police station,” Cpl. Cheruiyot told the Court.

The DCI intends to obtain the suspect’s call data records from a telecom services provider, recover the murder weapon, a pistol and conduct a mental assessment of the suspect

Odhiambo has allegedly confessed being a member of the gang that robbed and killed a DCI officer before robbing his wife in Ruai in August last year.

He told the DCI that killing police constable David Mayaka was not in their plans as they just wanted money from him and faults of his accomplices for fatally shooting the detective who was a scenes of crimes officer at the Makadara DCI offices

He will be back in court on December 16, 2024.
