OLD WOMAN JAILED FOR 35 YEARS FOR ROBBERY WITH VIOLENCE

A 62-year-old woman has been sentenced to 35 years in jail over robbery with violence.

Joyce Wairimu Kariuki is an ex-convict of Shimo La Tewa GK Prison where she served 15 years jail term over robberies with violence.

It came as a shock to many Kenyans when the Directorate of Criminal Investigations revealed the crimes the granny has been involved in, in major towns of Kenya.

Wairimu was arraigned in Loitoktok Law Courts on April 23, 2019 charged with robbery with violence. The verdict was made yesterday and was handed the long sentence.

“Following numerous reports of stolen motor vehicles especially lorries in Nakuru, Nairobi & Mombasa between 2018 and 2019, DCI Detectives narrowed down on the suspect around whom all the thefts revolved despite having been released from the said prison after completing a 15-year jail term” DCI stated.
