Man charged with defrauding state department of transport of Sh 3M

A man accused of defrauding the state department of transport at Nairobi of Sh 3 million has been charged at Milimani law courts.

Stephen Ngugi appeared before magistrate Martha Mutuku and denied the charges of conspiracy to commit a felony.

The court was informed that on diverse dates between March 16,2018 and May 17,2018 in Kilimani Sub-County, jointly with others not before the court, jointly with others before the court, conspired together to commit a misdemeanor namely obtaining goods from Anthony Gitobu Kariuki of Four Rocks Company (Kenya) limited by false pretenses and did obtain from Antony Gitobu Kariuki 50(fifty) units of Grub Screws valued at Sh 3,000,000 by falsely pretending that he was in a position to procure on behalf of the state department of transport at Nairobi.

He was released on a bond of Sh 1 million or a cash bail of Sh 500,000.

The matter will be heard on May 22,2021.
