A Nairobi Court has extended orders prohibiting the increment of parking fees for private cars and public service vehicles in Nairobi.
High Court Judge Antony Mrima at the same time enjoined Nairobi Metropolitan Services as interested party in the matter.
The petitions had been filed by the Matatu Owners Association and the Consumer Federation of Kenya together with other businessmen including Paul Kobia, who were represented by lawyer Henry Kurauka.
The county wanted to increase parking fees from Sh 200 to Sh 400.
The matter will be mentioned on May 3, 2021 to allow parties to file submissions and for further directions.
