Lawyer charged with Sh 3.5M bribe.

A Legal Officer   Ahmed Ngaira Rashid appeared before magistrate Douglas Ogoti and denied three counts of receiving bribes contrary to section 6 (I)  (a) as read with section 18 of the bribe Act No. 47 of 2016.

Court was informed that on May 3, 2020, at Galleria Shopping Mall, within the Nairobi City County, being the manager legal services at Agricultural Finance Corporation, requested for a financial advantage of Sh 3.5 Million from Nancy Kavinya Kioko with intent that, in consequence, he would influence writing off a loan of Sh 10 Million she had taken with the Agricultural Finance Corporation.

In the second count, Ngaira was charged that on May 19, 2020, at Galleria Shopping Mall, within the Nairobi City County, being the manager legal services at Agricultural Finance Corporation, requested for a financial advantage of Sh 3.5 Million from Nancy Kavinya Kioko with intent that in consequence, he would influence writing off a loan of Sh 10 Million she had taken with the Agricultural Finance Corporation.

In the third count, Ngaira was charged that on May 2020, at Kenol Gas Station, Langata within the Nairobi City County, being the Manager Legal services at Agricultural Finance Corporation, received a financial advantage of Sh 300,000 and 200 USD from Nancy Kavinya Kioko with intent that, in consequence, you would influence writing off a loan of Sh 10 Million she had taken with the Agricultural Finance Corporation.

He was released on Sh 1.5 Million Bond or a cash bail of Sh 350,000 the matter will be mentioned on May 27, 2021.
