A man has been charged with giving false information to a public officer against the law.
Alexander Irungu Wanjiru was accused that on November 28, 2019, at the directorate of Criminal Investigations Headquarters in Nairobi, willfully gave false information to SGT Selina Kalunge, a police officer attached to serious crime Unit that Joseph Ngaai Kabugu forged Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education certificate.
He lied that Ngaai had forged the certificate to gain admission for Certificate Courses at Shinners Technical College within Muranga County to cause Selina to use the lawful authority to investigate, arrest and charge the said Joseph Ngaai Kabugu knowing it was untrue.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges before magistrate Francis Andayi and requested the court to release him with favorable bond terms.
He was released on Sh 30,000 bond or a cash bail of Sh 20,000 .The matter will be heard on June 24 at city court.
