A woman suspected to have killed her colleague while they were fighting has been detained for 8 days at Gigiri police station.

Magistrate Jane Kamau of Milimani Law Courts has allowed an application made by Investigation Officer Charles Muchoya to have Clementine Nandutu detained until they conclude the investigations.

Nandutu on her defense said she did not commit that offense and that the police are acting maliciously to seek her detention.

She is a resident at Kibarage Slums where the deceased also resided, the police says if released the suspect will interfere with the investigations.

The prosecution informed the court that Nandutu fought with the deceased Mary Njambi on December 27, 2021 occasioning her bodily harm/injuries which are suspected to have caused her death on 1/1/2022.

Muchoya told the court that the deceased died in her mother’s house at Kibarage slums on 1/1/2022.

He wanted the court to grant them 14 days but the magistrate said that would be too long. They want to conduct a mental examination of the woman and a postmortem to the deceased.
