Billionaire Mary Wambui charged and released on sh 50k.

Billionaire Mary Wambui has been charged with being in possession of an unregistered firearm.

She appeared before Milimani Magistrate Wendy Micheni and denied two counts of being in possession of a firearm without a firearm certificate against the law.

The court was informed that she committed the offense on diverse dates between April 17,2020 and December 15,2021 in Nairobi .

She is said to have been in her possession Pistol CZ 75 Compat (Mini Ceska )Serial No A 785965 without valid Firearm Certficate.

She also pleaded not guilty to possessing (22) 9.9mm Calibre ammunitions wwithout valid Certificate.

Wambui was picked up from her Runda home and questioned by detectives before being taken to the Muthaiga police station where she was expected to spend the night.

The decision to arrest was made when she surrendered her pistol on December 15 last year, a day after the Firearms Licensing Board said she held the common pistol illegally.

The licence had expired on April 17, 2020.

She was released on Sh 50,000 cash bail or a bond of Sh 100,000
