Senior Lawyer Danstan Omari wants Nation Media to apologize and compensate him over defamation claims.

Nation Media Group lands in trouble after a senior lawyer raised complaint that the house has defamed him.

The firm of Musyoki Mugaka & co-advocates has written a defamation letter to the giant house over the Article Titled “cheers Boss: Here are the best and the worst Public Communicators of 2021’ issued on January 6, 2022.

The law firm that is representing lawyer Danstan Omari says that Nation Media Group published falsehoods against their client who is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya of good and many years standing at the bar.

“Our client is the managing partner at Musyoki Mogaka &co advocates and a prolific law lecturer at the Catholic University,”reads the defamation letter in parts.

The law firm says that Nation Media reported Omari as worse communicator of the year 2021 which damaged his reputation as a lawyer.

They want a confirmation within 7 days that they shall immediately publish an unqualified retraction of all the defamatory statements and unconditional apology that should achieve larger prominence than the offending Article by causing a publication of the apology in a whole page of their newspaper.

The lawyer wants a confirmation in writing in 7 days that Nation Media group has accepted liability for the defamatory statements published in the impugned article and they also want a compensation for damaged reputation.

He says that unless those demands are met, he will file court proceedings against the media outlet without any further reference to them.

Omari says his communication skills have been instrumental to elaborating and thoroughly explaining to the Kenyan public numerous on local media houses which include,BBC,VOA,CITIZEN TV,k24 among others.
