A man who allegedly posed as a police officer from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation has been charged.

Daniel Kinyanjui Kimani was charged before Kibera Principal Magistrate Derrick Kuto but he denied the charges.

The court heard that the accused person allegedly committed the offense on February 1, 2023, at Kindaruma Mall on Kindaruma road in Kilimani, Nairobi.

Through his lawyer, Kimani urged the court to release him on lenient bond terms.

The prosecution led by Allan Mogere did not object to his bond plea.

The magistrate released him on a Sh100,000 bond with an alternative cash bail of Sh50,000.
