Case against Samuel Wathika charged with Sh19M gold fraud to continue.

A case against Samuel Wathika,one of the Eight Kenyans and two foreign nationals arrested on February 3, 2023, for allegedly defrauding two American citizens USD159,000 (Ksh19, 859, 100) in a fake gold scam deal will be mentioned on May 31,2023.

When the accused appeared before Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Esther Kimilu,the prosecution wanted to have the date set for the hearing of this matter.

However Kimilu said the other suspects who are linked with this case have not pleaded to the charges yet.

She said that the fate of the others have to be known first before this matter continues to the hearing. Wathika has since been charged with the offense.

The other suspects, however, were not charged with any offence after the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) filed an application to review the file.

The others are Moses Otieno Oketch, Patroba Odhiambo Tobias, Elisha Mbadi Kimbero, Teddy Samora Kowino, Kaisarios Loamms, Mugabe Patrick Biriko, Seth Steve Okute, Bruno Otieno Oliende, and Collins Kiprotich Langat.
