Judicial officer in Sh 26M filing fraud charged.

A Judicial officer has been charged at Milimani Law Courts with Sh 26M fraud.

David Chege Mboche who is a lawyer has appeared before Milimani Principal Magistrate Ben Mark Ekhubi and denied the charges.

He was charged thst that on diverse dates between February 1,2022 and July 30,2023 he obtained Sh 26,075,000 from Marianne Kamau .

According to the chargesheet, the accused told Marianne that he was in a conduct of a civil case at Milimani law courts for filing fees which never existed.

Chege is also accused of conspiring to have defrauded the Sh 26Million with another not before court by falsely pretending that he was in conduct of non existing civil case at Milimani law courts of filing fees.

Chege pleaded with the court to be released on favourable bond terms saying that he is ailing and is currently undergoing medication at Mbagathi hospital.

He’s been remanded at capital hill police station pending plea taking on 18th August 2023.
