Three Charged in Sh 10M fake shoes deal.

They were charged with stealing Sh 10M in fake shoes deal.

Three people have been charged with Sh 10Million fraud..

The three Phoebe Wakaine Mwangi ,Charles Maina Thogo and Elijah Ndirangu appeared before magistrate Dolphina Alego and denied the charges.

The court was informed that diverse between December 10,2023 and December 13,2023 at Kamukunji,area within Nairobi County in the Republic of Kenya jointly with others not before court,conspired to commit a felony which is stealing of assorted shoes worth Sh 10,900,000.

They faced a second count of stealing against the law.

They court was informed that the three stole against section 268(1) as read with section 275 of the Penal code .

They were accused of stealing assorted shoes worth Sh 10,900,000,the property of Pauline Njeri.

In the third count,Wakaine was charged that on similar dates and place,she was found handling stolen goods contrary to section 322(1) (2) of the Penal code .

Wakaine was charged that otherwise than in the course of stealing dishonestly undertook the sisposed of assorted shoes from Japal Shop and Store Knowing or having reason to believe that they were stolen goods.

In the last count,Maina was charged with dishonestly retaining ten sacks of assorted shoes from JAPAl.

They denied the charges and pleaded with the court to be released on favourable bond terms.

The matter will be mentioned on December 28/2023.
