Middle-Aged Man Arraigned in Nairobi Court for Selling Infringing Mathematical Tables

A middle aged man was today arraigned at a Nairobi Court facing charges of selling infringing copies four figure mathematical tables contrary to Section 38 of the Copyright Act.

According to the prosecution, Samuel Aluta Muyela, on December 30, 2023 was found having in possession for sale infringing copyright works of 1033 Four Figure Mathematical Table 7th Edition whose copyright subsists in the name of Kenya National Examination Council.

He was also charged with being in possession of Printing Machines used for the purpose of making 1128 copies of books titled Four Figure Mathematical Table 7th Edition whose copyright subsists in the name of Kenya National Examination Council.

Appearing before Milimani Law Courts Magistrate Benmark Ekhubi, the accused denied the charges and was released on Ksh 300,000 bond with an alternative cash bail of Ksh 200,000.
