The bloggers allegedly linked him to a road accident and the disappearance of Munyuki High School principal Simon Isiaho Shange.
The move forms part of the ongoing Lugari MP defamation case involving claims shared online.
Lawyers request DCI investigation
In a letter dated November 8, 2025, Danstan Omari & Associates Advocates asked the Divisional Criminal Investigation Officer (DCIO) in Lugari to investigate the matter.
The law firm accused the bloggers of spreading malicious and false statements about the MP.
The lawyers identified the bloggers as Peter Amunga, George Opunga Tamata and Simon Asievela.
Dispute follows principal’s disappearance
The complaint follows the disappearance of Simon Isiaho Shange, the principal of Munyuki High School.
Reports indicate that Shange was involved in a road accident along the Eldoret-Malaba highway.
He later disappeared from the scene under unclear circumstances.
The incident caused concern among residents and triggered public discussions online.
MP accuses bloggers of spreading false claims
Nabwera’s lawyers claim the bloggers published statements that damaged his reputation.
They argue that the posts wrongly suggested the MP played a role in the accident and disappearance.
The law firm said:
“A number of bloggers, led by Mr. Peter Amunga, Mr. George Opunga Tamata, and Mr. Simon Asievela have been going round spreading unqualified, ill-intended and malicious statements…”
The lawyers say the online claims created an unfair impression about their client.
Case moves from civil complaint to criminal probe
The lawyers had earlier issued demand letters to the bloggers.
The latest action seeks to involve criminal investigators in the dispute.
The law firm wants the DCI to question the bloggers over the information they shared.
It also wants investigators to establish whether the bloggers have any knowledge about the principal’s disappearance.
MP seeks truth over principal’s disappearance
The MP’s legal team says the investigation will help protect his reputation and uncover the truth.
They argue that resolving the matter will also assist the principal’s family, friends and residents of Lugari.
The lawyers said they want authorities to determine whether the bloggers’ claims are true or false.
Debate over online speech and defamation
The case highlights growing tensions between public figures and online commentators in Kenya.
Social media platforms allow information to spread quickly, but false claims can damage reputations.
The dispute raises questions about free speech, defamation and responsibility in online publishing.
DCI to decide next action
Danstan Omari & Associates Advocates said they will cooperate with investigators.
The DCI in Lugari will now decide whether to open a full criminal investigation into the three bloggers.
The decision will attract attention from political and legal observers.
