A Kenyan citizen has filed an application before the high court seeking to quash gazzete notice that saw the government to raising taxation on various government services.

An activist Fredrick Bikeri , through city lawyer Danstan Omari says there was no public participation by various stakeholders.

Bikeri insists that if the gazette notice will be implemented, many Kenyans are going to suffer including form four leavers and young adults who are yet to get married will suffer due to high cost of living.

The matter will now be mentioned on the 29th of November before Hon Lawrence Mugambi.

According to the legal gazzete notice no 15239-15242 dated 6th November 2023, the
2nd Respondent caused to be pubished a review of charges and fees for
various government documentations and services including but not limited
to birth and death certificates, marriage certificate, passportand work
permits.
