Driver of Kibera MP Fined For Dangerous Driving

The MP driver who called journalist Larry Madowo “takataka” after a traffic confrontation has been charged in a Milimani court.

George Oduor, the driver of Kibera MP Mwalimu Peter Orero, appeared before Senior Principal Magistrate Rose Ndombi where he pleaded guilty to dangerous overtaking along Oloitoktok Road in Nairobi.

He has been charged with dangerous overtaking along Oloitoktok Road, contrary to the Traffic Rules under Cap 403 of the Laws of Kenya.

On the 9th day of October, 2025, at about 1440 hours along Oloitoktok Road within Nairobi County, being the driver of motor vehicle registration number KBN 546S make Toyota Prado, dangerously overtook a flow of motor vehicles, thereby committing the offence of dangerous overtaking contrary to the said law

George Oduor defending himself before magistrate Rose Ndombi, said he was in a hurry to the airport and pleaded for the court to pardon him stating that this was his first crime and he’ll never repeat the same mistake

The prosecution told the court the act was intentional, urging for a stiff penalty.

The magistrate fined him one hundred thousand shillings or twelve months imprisonment

“I’ve considered the law under which the accused person has been charged with and the same provides for a sentence, a fine of KSh 100,000 therefore I’ll award that being the maximum fine under that particular section.” magistrate Rose Ndombi ruled. “He’ll pay a fine of 100, 000 or stay in prison for a period of 12 months”
