A pastor has been charged at milimani law courts with obtaining Sh 206,000 by pretending that he will facilitate a visit by his Excellency deputy president William Ruto to a burial.
Simon Makokha Mulama appeared before magistrate Bernard Ochoi and denied the charges read against him.
He was accused that on February 5, 2021 in Nairobi CBD within Nairobi County, with intent to defraud, jointly with others not before the court, obtained money from Medo Luke Calvin Sh 206,000 by falsely pretending that he was in a position to facilitate a visit by Ruto to a burial ceremony of Caren Atieno at Rusinga Island a fact he knew to be false.
He was released with Sh 100,000 cash bail or a bond of Sh 200,000.
