A man has been charged at Milimani Law Courts with Sh 6.5M fraud.
Michael Kamau alias Francis Kimani Njoroge appeared before magistrate Susan Shitubi and denied the charges.
He was charged that on diverse dates between August 5, 2021 and September 2, 2021 at Central Business District( CBD) within Nairobi county jointly with others not present in court with an intention to defraud, obtained from Paul Njoroge sh 6.5M.
Kamau is said to have fraudulently obtained the money purporting that he could be in position to sell a parcel of Land located at Ruai, a fact known to be false belonging to Paul Njoroge.
He is also charged with impersonation.He is said to have pretended to be Francis Kimani Njoroge.
Through his lawyer Mrs Tanui, she pleaded with the court to have the accused released on lenient cash bail and bond terms as he is a single father of 3 children who solidly depend on him and he has no job to raise a bond set higher.
Michael pleaded not guilty and was released on a cash bail of 1 million or an alternative bond of 2 million.
The pretrial date will be on March 2, 2022.
