Catholic priest testifies how estranged husband to Nyeri Women Rep Rahab Mukami defrauded them over Sh 3M.

A catholic priest has appeared before Milimani law Courts Magistrate Bernard Ochoi and explained how James Maingi Kimani defrauded the church of over Sh 3M.

Maingi is the estranged husband to Nyeri Women rep Mukami, he is being accused of defrauding the church of Sh 3.9 M by pretending that he was in a position to sell and fabricate an Isuzu NQR 33-seater Bus.

He is said to have received the money from revered John Peter Gitonga where he was to purchase the vehicle on behalf of catholic Diocese of Meru St Johns Boarding Primary School Maua.

When Revered Gitonga appeared before magistrate Ochoi ,he informed the court how he met the accused James Maingi Kimani.

He alleged that catholic dioceses of Meru engaged the accused to purchase and fabricate a school bus for their school St Johns mixed primary school.

But upon paying the accused Sh 3.9 million,through his company Dodi auto tech which accused owned with his wife ,the Nyeri Women Rep Rahab Mukami .

Maingi was charged together with Dodi Autotech on September 6,2017 and October 27,2018.

The court was informed that in Industrial Area ,with intent to defraud ,jointly with another not before court,obtained Sh 3,950,000 from revered John Gitonga.

The accused never delivered the 33 seater Bus model NQR 66R Isuzu.

The case was adjourned until the 15/6/22 when the prosecution will present the other witnesses.
