Comedian Eric Omondi released on Sh 10K in unlawful assembly Case.

Comedian Eric Omondi together with 17 others have been released on Sh 10,000 cash bail after they were charged with taking part in an unlawful assembly on Parliament Road.

They have appeared before Milimani Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina and denied one count of creating disturbance.

The court was informed that Omondi and the others committed the offense on February 21 at Parliament Road.

Through their two defense lawyers Danstan Omari and Kimani Wachira, the accused pleaded with the court to be released on favorable terms.

The lawyers told the court that the charge sheet reads that they have been charged with taking part in an unlawful assembly but they were representing over 40Million Kenyans.

“All the accused are International content creators adding and the fourth accused Omondi is a Kenyan global brand,”added Omari.

Lawyer Kimani said that they went to parliament to get solution on the current high cost of living.

They denied the charge and were released on a Sh20, 000 bond or an alternative cash bail of Sh10, 000.
