Douglas Onduso in court over Sh 12M robbery

Businessman  Douglas Onduso who is facing several cases in courts will remain in custody until the investigation in relation to forgery claims are done.

Onduso who was appearing before Milimani magistrate Dolphin Alego in a matter where he was charged with robbery with violence is alleged to have forged a medical document and produce in court indicating that he was treated at Bahati Hospital.

Magistrate Dolphin Alego while cancelling his bond, directed the investigation officer to find out whether Onduso was indeed treated at Bahati Hospital given that the letter that Onduso produced in court was fake and did not came from the same facility.

“The allegations against the accused person are serious in nature and once proven to be true I will recommend that he be charged for forgery and giving false information”Said Alego.

Onduso who missed the last court session before the trial magistrate produced a fake document sick sheet claiming that he was treated at Bahati hospital.

But in what turned out to be drama,the lawyer for the defence produce a letter from the hospital dismissing Onduso sick sheet,he also produce a list of the patient who were treated in that hospital on the fateful day and Onduso name was not among the patients treated in that facility.

Onduso how was out on cash bail before it was cancelled,was charged with three counts.

According to the main count,it states that on the 12th day of August 2018 at Sapona Crescent building along Kabarnet Road in Nairobi, within Nairobi county jointly with others not before court while armed with crude weapons namely panga, robbed Caleb Mwombe 2,600 of assorted mobile phones, assorted genetic men’s boxer, assorted maternity office dresses,assorted tv sets,assorted nail polishes,a microwave assorted soaps,two pieces of radio stereo, assorted water heaters, assorted perfumes,10 piece of cocktail dresses, assorted wrists watches,24 piece of stainless cutlery,assorted fridges,40 pair of men’s shoes,all valued at 3,695,051the property of jetfly limited services and at the time of such robbery threatened to use actual violence to the said Caleb Mwembe.

in count two,Onduso is charged by stealing by servant contrary to section 268 sub sections one as read with section 281 of the Pinal code.

The Matter will now be mentioned on the 8th of April 2024
