MediHeal Group of Hospitals has denied claims that it receives money from international donors linked to organ transplant procedures.
Speaking to members of the Fourth Estate, Dr. Srinivas Murthy said the hospital has no role in an alleged international organ trafficking network.

Murthy said patients seeking transplant services come to the hospital with their own donors.
He disputed reports claiming that the facility sources or selects donors for patients.
“The clients come themselves to the hospital and procedures are being followed accordingly,” Dr. Murthy said.
According to Murthy, the hospital follows the required procedures when patients and their donors seek transplant services.
MediHeal denies receiving money from donors
MediHeal Group of Hospitals Vice President Maryline Limo also denied claims that the hospital receives money from donors.
A media report identified MediHeal Hospital as a key site for transplant procedures. The report claimed that recipients paid up to $200,000, equivalent to about Ksh25.9 million, for a single kidney transplant.
However, Limo rejected the allegations.
She said the hospital follows legal procedures before conducting transplant operations. Donors also sign formal affidavits without financial inducement, she added.
Hospital says it only charges for medical services
Limo clarified that MediHeal only receives payments for medical services provided to clients.
She denied that the hospital participates in any scheme involving the exchange of money between donors and recipients.
“I would like to state that MediHeal Hospital is not part and parcel of this money. The money that the facility receives is for the services which are rendered to the client. So, this issue of money has been exchanged with MediHeal. They are not part and parcel of it,” she said.
