Three people have been charged with obtaining land by false pretense.
According to the charge sheet, on April 18, 2017, the accused; Joseph Wamalwa, Cecilia Wangare, Benson Ndegwa, Wesonga Sijeyo, and Jairus Musumba are said to have jointly and willfully procured the registration of a parcel of land at the land titles registry in Nairobi County. They allegedly used a certificate of title for land located in Kayole, falsely pretending that this parcel was in Dandora.
Appearing before the Milimani court on June 11, 2025, the three accused had absconded court on June 9, 2025, where they were scheduled to enter their plea. Only Joseph Wamalwa, one of the five, showed up for the plea. He was released on a bond of KSH 100,000 or a cash bail of KSH 50,000.
The three, through their lawyer, requested that the court grant them bail. However, the prosecution sought to maintain the warrant of arrest for the second accused, Cecilia Wangare, who did not appear in court.
The magistrate granted the warrant of arrest for the second accused and set the matter for mention.
