Big 5 Construct Kenya returns to Nairobi, unlocking growth in a $20 billion construction market

by Faith Karanja

Kenya’s construction industry is set for renewed growth as Big 5 Construct Kenya returns to Nairobi for its eighth edition from November 5 to 7, 2025.

The event will take place at the Sarit Expo Centre and will bring together construction professionals, exhibitors, and industry leaders from around the world.

Construction sector drives Kenya’s economic growth

Organised by dmg events, Big 5 Construct Kenya comes as the country’s construction sector continues to expand.

The industry is currently valued at about $20 billion and records an estimated annual growth rate of 7.5 percent.

Reports from ABiQ and ResearchandMarkets indicate that the sector’s growth comes from increased investments in housing, infrastructure, and energy projects under Kenya’s Vision 2030 development agenda.

The World Bank projects Kenya’s economy to grow by 4.5 percent in 2025, highlighting the resilience of key sectors despite global economic challenges.

Global brands to showcase construction solutions

This year’s exhibition will feature more than 150 brands from over 20 countries.

The event expects to attract more than 9,000 professionals, including engineers, architects, contractors, project managers, consultants, and government representatives.

Participants will explore new technologies, business opportunities, and partnerships shaping the future of Kenya’s construction sector.

Major exhibitors include Jaquar, Cleopatra Group, Masa, Stanley Black & Decker, Framecad, Mapei, and Mark Décor.

The companies will showcase solutions in construction materials, building technology, design systems, and sustainable development.

Exhibition highlights construction innovation

Big 5 Construct Kenya will feature 12 specialised sectors covering different areas of the construction industry.

The exhibition will showcase building interiors and finishes, concrete and cement solutions, construction tools, protective equipment, and digital construction technologies.

Visitors will also explore innovations in HVACR systems, modular construction, intelligent buildings, solar technologies, mechanical and electrical systems, and metal products.

These solutions support Kenya’s growing demand for efficient and sustainable construction methods.

Industry leaders highlight investment opportunities

Josine Heijmans, Senior Vice President at dmg events, said the exhibition has become an important platform for connecting industry leaders with practical construction solutions.

She noted that Kenya’s infrastructure programmes and housing initiatives continue to create opportunities for investors, suppliers, and innovators.

Big 5 Construct Kenya aims to connect businesses with decision-makers driving transformation across the construction sector.

Major projects increase construction demand

The exhibition comes as Kenya continues with major development projects, including the Nairobi–Mombasa Usahihi Expressway and the OrPower 22 Geothermal Plant.

These projects are expected to increase demand for construction materials, skilled labour, technology, and investment partnerships.

The developments reflect Kenya’s continued focus on infrastructure expansion and sustainable growth.

Professionals to benefit from industry sessions

Beyond exhibitions, attendees will participate in Big 5 Talks, which will feature more than 25 free CPD-certified sessions.

Over 45 experts will discuss key topics such as project management, engineering, sustainability, architecture, and construction technology.

The sessions aim to equip professionals with knowledge and skills needed to address emerging challenges in the industry.

Big 5 Construct Kenya remains free for trade and industry professionals aged 18 years and above, providing access to global expertise, networking opportunities, and business connections.
