A man accused of defrauding a woman Sh 150,000 by pretending that he would sell her a shop has been charged at Kibera Law courts.
Stephen Nyangau appeared before Senior Principal Magistrate Philip Mutua and denied one count of abstaining money by false pretense contrary to section 313 of the penal code.
He is said to have committed the offense on June 17,2020 at Uthiru in Dagorretti.
Nyangau is said to have obtained Sh 150,000 from Esther Mweru by pretending that she was in position to sell a shop to her.
Investigation report indicates that Nyangau lied to Mweru that he is the owner of that shop but after receiving payment, he switched off the phone.
He was released on Sh 50,000 cash bail or a bond of Sh 100,000.
The matter will be mentioned on July 1,2020
