City Evangelist Lucy wa Ngunjiri and her husband Lameck Ngunjiri have marked 25 years of marriage.
The couple runs Prayers Beyond Boundaries Ministries at Ngara and on Sunday mornings Wa Ngunjiri runs a preaching show on Kameme FM.
“Friends, today 5th August, 2020 is 25 years – Silver Jubilee of my Marriage. I worship God for making my husband my Pastor and Teacher of the word. Hallelujah!” she said during the anniversary yesterday.
The couple however held a low-profile event because of risks and measures set following the COVID-19 outbreak.
She advised the young couples and those yet to start marriage life to not to give up on what they love, keep on, Persevere and be stubborn in faith and pursue what they believe in.
“When my husband and I got married, we discovered that we were complete opposites. We started arguing after honeymoon, and from there things were just up and down with no joy though our family and friends thought we lived in a bed of roses. We loved each other, but we did not get along. Attitude and belief system was our problem” she said.
She however revealed they made it after they vowed not to divorce and she refused to let go even in her pain.
“We got counseling that proved I had too much Pride in me. I thought I was too good for Lameck. I thought I deserved something better and understanding than he was” she revealed.
The couple struggled for the first 10 years of their marriage.
They have two children; Leon Ngunjiri and Lyne Ngunjiri.
