Fake doctor Mugo wa Wairimu sentenced to 3 years in prison

A ‘quack doctor’ James Mugo alias Mugo wa Wairimu has been sentenced to three years in jail or pay a fine of Sh 1.4 million after being found guilty of unlawfully carrying out the business of a pharmacist while not registered by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
In a judgement delivered on Wednesday by senior resident magistrate Martha Nanzushi, ruled that the prosecution had proved its case against Wairimu.
Mugo was also convicted of operating a medical laboratory without registration and licence by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Practitioners , operating a medical clinic without a registration and Practicing as unregistered and unlicensed person.
