UASIN GISHU FARMER WHO WON LAND CASE AGAINST DP RUTO PASSES ON

by FRANK MACHARIA

Adrian Muteshi, the Uasin Gishu, Eldoret County farmer who won a land dispute against DP William Ruto in 2013 has passed on.

According to the family, Muteshi died yesterday in Nairobi.

He was involved in a long court case against Ruto over 100-acre farm in Uasin Gishu he lost during the 2008 post-election chaos.

He also sued the Attorney-General and one Dorothy Yator for selling the land to Ruto.

In 2013, the court ruled in favour of Muteshi saying he had proven beyond reasonable doubt that the land was his.

Ruto was ordered to pay Sh5 million to Muteshi for illegally occupying his land.

However, in February 2014 Ruto appealed the court case but in 2017 he withdrew his appeal against the High Court judgement ordering him to pay Sh5 million.

The late Mr. Muteshi leaves behind a wife Maria Wikunza Muteshi and six children.
