The family of the slain Dutch businessman Tob Cohen has written a letter to the Public Service Commission (PSC)requesting timelines for consideration of the petition for the removal of Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji from office.

In a letter dated October 14,2021, Gabriel Hannah Van Straten, a sister to the deceased says owing to the public interest of justice in this matter, she wants the commission to act expeditiously saying she is looking forward to hearing its response.

Lawyer Danstan Omari says under the provisions of Article 35 of the constitution, his legal team under Musyoki Mogaka Advocates has been instructed by the family of the late Cohen to seek insight on the timelines that will be required by the commission to review the said petition so they may advice their client.

Omari says that the petition discloses sufficient facts and grounds that will cause the removal of Haji from office as articulated by Article 158 of the constitution of Kenya,2010.

“We are optimistic that this competent commission shall be satisfied with the existence of such grounds laid in the petition and as such send it to the President of the Republic of Kenya who may then examine it as envisaged in the constitution of Kenya,2010,” added Omari.
