A legislature from Kiminini Maurice Kakai Bisau has been accused of Financial Mismanagement.

This has come after audit reports showed some significant gaps that may be used or are used to loot public funds.

The audit reports for the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) in Kiminini raised by the auditor general Nancy Gathungu shows alot of concerns over financial management and accountability.

The report in our Possession flaggs key issues including poor record-keeping, incomplete financial reporting, and ineffective contract management.

“The management team appears to have failed to provide crucial audit documents within the required timeframe, while procurement records have reportedly been misplaced or inaccurately documented, exposing the fund to potential misuse,” read the report released by the auditor general in part.

The report says that the constituency leadership has failed to adhere to the public finance protocols hence exposing public funds to looting and misuse.

According to financial experts, there is a pressing need for the Kiminini MP’s led NG-CDF board to ensure Fund Account Managers maintain accurate, reliable, and complete financial records.

Experts further says that, capacity-building efforts such as training by the Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (PSASB) on financial reporting standards are essential. Without these interventions, the fund risks continued mismanagement undermining the development.

This comes after residents vowed to sent him home for alledgly opposing key development projects.

Bissau had on a certain WhatsApp group opposed the construction of a University in TransNzoia county and falsely claimed that.

” As much as I support having our own University in TransNzoia, we don’t mutilate a district hospital to create a University. Our county health system which must be a priority has collapsed and instead of fixing it the destruction continues,” he said in a WhatsApp group.

His allegations were false as the county government of TransNzoia had done enough in improving the health sector.

Furthermore, Tranzoia county lacks a University and residents depend on other counties to educate their children.

Efforts to get the MP on phone for comments were not successful.
