10 Bouncers who attacked a journalist have been charged and released on Sh 30,000 cash bail.

Ten Kettle House and Grill bouncers who recently attacked Journalists and police officers during a raid have been charged with selling shisha against the law.

The ten; Albanus Luseno, Charles Otieno, Bramuel Ngosane, Joseph Mwai, Daniel Kaka, Iddi Onyango, Daniel Mburu, Antony Ndune, Emmily Awuor, Elizabeth Malesi and Sospeter Onyango appeared before magistrate Gilbert Shikwe and pleaded not guilty to various criminal charges.

They were charged with assault causing actual bodily harm. The prosecution alleged that the 10 accused persons on January 5, 2024 being security guards at Kettle House Bar and Grill along Muthagari Road assaulted Jane Mogoiri Kibira a KBC Journalist who was among a team of NACADA enforcement.

The ten were also charged that on the 5th of January this year jointly with others not before court being security guards of Kettle House Bar and Grill located in Muthangari Nairobi County they assaulted Standard Media Group Journalists and two police officers who were among a team of Nacada enforcement thereby occasioning them actual body harm.

They are also charged with selling Shisha.

They have been granted a cash bail of 30,000 each.

Meanwhile the court has issued warrant of arrest against 10 others who failed to appear in court today for purposes of taking plea.
