A Kenyan woman whose story was carried in September this year after a Chineese Firm, Hong Kong Maryco Company Limited sold her fish that was contaminated, has spoken out again.
Sandra Ndube who lives in Washington DC, has issued an ultimate of seven days to compensate her failure to which she will proceed and sue the Company for the damage and embarrassment it caused to both herself and her business.
“I have suffered immensely due to what happened in September this year and any further delay to compensate me shall have very severe consequences”, she said.
She says that it wasnt her wish to ship to her home Country of Kenya fish that was contaminated which resulted to three people being hospilised at Kenyatta National Hospital suffering from food poisoning scombroid on 6th September 2022.
“I had absolutely no knowledge that the whole container which I shipped to Kenya carried contaminated fish”, Sandra said.
Sandra said that she has been shipping fish to Kenya for quite some time now and most people who consumed her fish have never complained.
The incident led to the arrest of Sandra’s brother Dennis Ndube who was the vendor. He was arraigned in Court and charged before being released on a Ksh100,000 cash bond at Makadara Law Courts.
The container was later confiscated by Kenya Bureau of Standards on 8th September 2022 and together with NEMA to destroy.
