Two charged with Sh 4M fraud

Two people have been charged at Milimani  Law Courts with conspiracy to defraud against the law.

Kiprotich Kemboi and Roy Mutai have been charged that on diverse dates between February 20,2023 and July 26,2023 in Kilimani area within Nairobi County ,jointly with  others  not before court conspired to defraud Harneel Signh Sagoo of Sh 2,700,000.

They were also charged that on diverse dates between September 1,2023  and October 31,2023 in Kilimani area within Nairobi County in the republic of Kenya,jointly with others not before court conspired to defraud Richard Awindah Aduda Sh 1,300,000.

The prosecution opposed their release on bail saying that the accused keep their offices locked with no acclivities and it was very difficult for me to trace them to effect arrest.

The police have more than 15 mobile phones registered sim cards in the names of the company Moto Shop east Africa where they keep on changing the mobile phone contract and blocking others and also placing them in different locations such that it is difficult to track them down if released on bond.

They said the government will stand to lose a lot of resources again in re-arresting the suspect in case they jump bail.They added that the accused persons keep avoiding phone contact with the complainant and applicant investigators either by switching off their lines.
