If you were to attain a black belt in martial arts today what is that crazy thing you would do? Go out and provoke some guy then beat them thoroughly?
That would be first thing some dudes would do but imagine Constitutional lawyer Prof PLO Lumumba is a holder of black belt in Karate but for over four decades he has not beaten anybody.
The former Director of Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission and currently the Kenya School of Laws Director trained in Karate in 1975.
For 45 years he has not been involved in any physical altercation but vows to defend himself if an aggressor pushes him hard.
He says he trained for the purposes of inner peace and discipline as opposed to many who does it for self-defense and occasional show offs.
“I was inspired by philosophy the leading martial artist like Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee, Ron Van Clief, Frank Dux, Wong Jack Man and Jet Li who are great philosophers” Lumumba said on a local tv show.
He said even with his impressive fighting skills he would not blindly venture into some dangerous areas like Kariobangi and start picking fights with people.
“You will be shot dead. I didn’t train to fight people but to have that inner peace and discipline” he said.
He revealed he is in the process of establishing an advanced martial arts training school.
